Travel Warning: Political Protests - Security Concerns
Anti-government protests continue to be held in Bangkok despite the election of a new prime minister, Somchai Wongsawat. The violence escalated on October 7, the day the new government was sworn in, with People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD)demonstrators setting up another blockade outside the parliament building. A car bomb exploded outside the building, police were stabbed, and eventually troops were called in to control the protestors. The violence led to the resignation of the deputy prime minister.
In recent months, demonstrations forced the closure of three airports - Phuket, Krabi, and Hat Yai. Travellers should expect disruptions at airports and rail stations.
Most visits to areas outside Bangkok are trouble-free but travellers should be aware that there are serious security concerns in the southern provinces of Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat and Songkhla due to ongoing violent insurgency. On 15 March, a car bomb exploded in the parking lot of a Pattani hotel, killing two people and injuring 13. The Thai-Myanmar border is also potentially volatile.

If you are in Thailand at this time you have to join the party, there is no escape unless you stay indoors all the time. The crowds, both Thai and foreigners, celebrating Songkran are exuberant and uninhibited. It's unlikely you'll ever be with a happier group of people. And you'll all be wet together. So if you want to experience all the fun and frivolity take yourself to Kaosan Road, Silom Road around Patpong or Soi 4, and the Nana areas in Bangkok and for that real country feel of Songkran there is nowhere better than Chiang Mai the "capital" of Northern Thailand.
The indiscriminate nature of the frivolities and the accompanying festivities which, usually means consuming much alcohol, that can lead to tragic consequences. The road toll at this time of the year is horrendous. Statistically it is young people affected by alcohol, on speeding motorbikes, on roads made slippery by water, who are the main victims. Water being thrown into the face of oncoming vehicles is considered "fun". So while it may be fun it has serious consequences. There have been some moves to curtail the excesses but these have generally been unsuccessful.
While shops in the main centres will be open albeit with reduced staff, banks, government offices and most commercial businesses can be closed for 5 days. The Money Changing Exchanges of the banks, however, will be open.
Pattaya celebrates the water throwing part of Songkran a week later than the rest of Thailand. This may be to give people a chance to escape it within the country.

Loy Krathong is as old as Thai heritage and represents a close bond between Thai culture and water. The festival takes place on the full moon night of the twelfth lunar month when the water level is high and the climate is cooler. Participants ask water spirits to sail away their troubles in their krathongs, which are containers traditionally made from banana leaves and carrying offerings of incense, lotus flowers and small money.

The Life of a Thai Teenager - ชีวิตวัยรุ่นไทยคนหนึ่ง
I am Panrit "Gor" Daoruang, a Thai teenager and the webmaster of this online magazine. (I used to be called Nattawud but I changed my name after I received a lot of bad luck.) I am going to show you all about my home country, Thailand, through my every-day life. I have been writing about my experiences since I was 12 years old.
I have been doing this for over ten years. So, there are now hundreds of pictures and tons of information about Thailand which I keep adding to every week. Every day, more than 3500 people come to read about every moment of my Thai life from birth to adulthood. With videos they can now watch too! I started my online diary back in 1997 which probably makes me the first blogger in Thailand.

Few countries still prosecute lèse majesté. One exception is Thailand, where social activists like Sulak Sivaraksa were charged with the crime in the 1980s and 1990s because they allegedly criticized the King, although the King in his 2005 birthday speech said he would not take lèse majesté charges seriously. Several high-profile cases were dropped. In September 2006, the leaders of a military coup accused prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra of lèse majesté; the Thai military is thought to be highly loyal to the king. Although the King is held in great respect by many Thais, he is also protected by lèse majesté laws which allow critics to be jailed for 3 to 15 years. Politician Veera Musikapong was jailed and banned from politics for lèse majesté, despite the palace's opinion that the remarks were harmless.
Frenchman Lech Tomasz Kisielewicz who in 1995 allegedly committed lèse majesté by making a derogatory remark about a Thai princess while on board a Thai Airways flight in international airspace was taken into custody upon landing in Bangkok and charged with offending the monarchy. He was detained for two weeks, released on bail, and acquitted after writing a letter of apology to king Bhumibol Adulyadej

Bangkok cabaret show bar/club.
The human being's natural beauty - live on stage.
We constantly strip down decorations and costumes to the bare necessities. We minimize choreographic ambitions and create choreographies , which highlight the specific talents and abilities of our actors and actresses. We do not cater to any markets or fashions or trends.
The overload and without any doubt the overkill of today's frenzies of the media world are verifying our concept of reduction.
Daily training of physical stamina , daily rehearsal of the current show and new productions , try to regain daily our motivation not to copy , not to reproduce the traded cliches and stereotypes.
-

It ' s said : If you 've seen one , you 've seen them all. Well if you travel to Thailand and stay in Bangkok , plan to see our show. It will give you an unseen and unheard-of experience.
The revival of the art of entertainment!
Beautifully Thai! Internationally renowned! Independently creative!
